How to Rewrite Your Money Story
Use journaling, evidence checks and small behavior changes to build a more deliberate relationship with money.
Start with the old story
Write a short paragraph beginning, “Money has always meant…” Do not edit it for positivity.
Find the inherited parts
Mark phrases that sound like family rules, cultural expectations or reactions to past events.
Separate facts from conclusions
“We struggled when I was young” is different from “I will always struggle.”
Write a flexible version
Aim for something credible: “Money has sometimes felt uncertain, and I can improve how I plan and respond.”
Create evidence
Choose one repeatable action that supports the new story. Behavioral evidence is stronger than a slogan alone.
